Practice

Milburn Psychology Practice is an independent psychology and psychotherapy service offering a range of highly specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to promote emotional  health in children,  adolescents, families, adults and organisations. Milburn Psychology Practice has clinics in Hastings and Brighton.

Fees

Competitively priced mental healthcare for children, families and adults.  The aim of the practice is to keep your costs to a minimum. The fee is payable by cash, cheque, or online banking.

Healthcare insurance:

Milburn Psychology Practice is registered with major private healthcare insurance companies, including AXA,  Bupa, Cigna, and WPA.

Privacy Policy:

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), all personal data and circumstances are held in the strictest confidence.

All patient records and psychological treatment records are stored in a safe and fully secured environment. Dr Hugh Milburn does not  share your information with any other persons or third parties unless requested by yourself in writing. The Practice will hold your records for a minimum of 7 years from the last point of contact (In the case of minors, 7 years after they turn 18 years of age).

If you wish Dr Hugh Milburn to liaise with another health provider regarding your treatment he requires you to sign a consent form allowing him to do so. It is recommended that a copy of any reports provided by  Practice be sent to the family GP, as they will retain medical responsibility and are central in the professional network involved with the individual and family future care. However, if any patient discloses information that indicates either they or another person are at risk of serious harm,  Dr Milburn has a duty to disclose this information to a pertinent third party (e.g. GP, Social Services, next of kin if under age 16). If Dr Milburn has to share this kind of information he will always try to talk to the child or parent involved first, if appropriate.

Dr Hugh Milburn will occasionally need to contact you to rearrange an appointment or discuss your treatment. In this instance he will use either the email or phone number that you have provided us with.

You have the right to view the information we hold about you by requesting in writing to: Milburn Psychology Practice, 19 Wellington Square, 2nd Floor, Hastings, East Sussex TN34 1PB.

Policy for cancellations and missed appointments:

Please contact the Practice as soon as possible to let Dr Milburn know if you would like to cancel an appointment.  Please note that the Hastings clinic has a 48 hour cancellation policy; where an appointment is cancelled by a client with less than 48 hours notice, the fee for that session will be charged. The Brighton clinic has a four day cancellation policy; where an appointment is cancelled by a client with less than four days notice, the fee for that session will still be charged.

Emergency:

Milburn Psychology Practice does not provide an emergency service. In the event of a mental health emergency you are advised to contact your G.P. services, NHS Direct 111, Mental Health Helpline 0300 5000 101 or should the need arise, go direct to your local A&E.

Facilities:

The waiting area and consulting room are located on the 2nd floor of a beautiful period building, centrally located in Wellington Square, Hastings. The central, but discreet location offers a quiet room furnished to a high standard. The practice also runs a regular clinic in Brighton.

Clinic Hours:

The practice has convenient and flexible office hours, including evening appointments.
